Yes! Pune has an irritating 1% additional charge on any property transaction. This is called LBT or Local Body Tax. LBT is charged when buying a property, when registering a gift deed, when registering GPA (in some cases) etc. This was supposed to be eliminated once GST was implemented.
However, the government has been silent on how real estate is impacted by GST (except for saying an overall 12% rate applies to under-construction buildings). Hence, in Pune, the local bodies are still charging 1% LBT! AFAIK, there is no refund on LBT.

Fully agree that LBT is irritating! Why is this extra tax when there is GST. People simply promise 'achche din' but nothing changes in India!
