Hi Soni, I can understand and relate to your question. We were thinking of buying a plot outside Pune (instead of buying a flat) and hence approached banks for a loan. We were shocked that banks usually do not offer loans for plot purchase! Sometimes the developers/ brokers of the plot were also acting suspicious. They were asking for 60% to be paid in cash and rest by cheque. Banks said that some of the plotted developments have legal issues and suggested that we approach them only after getting a title search report from a lawyer. Because of all this, we were told that usually only LIC Housing Finance, DHFL and some pvt. finance companies give loans for buying plots.

I have enquired for a plot in pune. The seller said bank will finance me 75% of the total money. But alka is telling that banks do not offer loans for plot purchase. Is it possible?
