If the value of the property is beyond Rs 50 lakhs then it is mandatory for the buyer to deduct 1% of the sale consideration as TDS. It has to be paid by the buyer before the property registration. This TDS receipt will be required at the time of your Sale Deed registration at the Sub-registrar's office.
